Our Process

  • Step 1 FREE CONSULTATION & QUOTE

As every home is different, our quotes are tailor-made to suit yours. After a follow-up call to your enquiry, Tom Dixon Painting will schedule a time to come out and meet with you. During that meeting we will measure up your home, evaluate the existing paint condition and surfaces, answering any of your questions, so you can make an informed choice on the painting of your home. If it's a new home being built we will measure off the plans. From there we will provide a clear and comprehensive written quotation, giving you everything you need to know such as prep required, paints specified, cost and the scope of work.

  • Step 2 TAKE ADVANTAGE OF A FREE COLOUR CONSULTATION

We will help you choose the paint finishes that are ideal for your space. We offer our clients the opportunity for a free hour with Southlands leading colour consultant Gillian Graham. Choosing the right colour scheme can be a painstaking task, with what seems like countless possibilities. Discussing your ideas and walking through your home environment with a professional colour consultant will ensure a well thought out scheme and increase the value of your home.

  • Step 3 SCHEDULE YOUR JOB

Generally speaking we can start any project within 2-3 weeks from acceptance of quote. Should your time frame be more urgent, let us know in our first consultation, and we may have the flexibility to adjust our schedule. You can be sure that once we confirm the start date for your project, we will be there on time and work continuously until the job has been completed.

  • Step 4 PREPARATION IS THE KEY

Once we've arrived onsite, Tom Dixon Painting will set aside time to protect your home/contents before the most important step in painting. Preparation is painting law and whoever is painting your home needs to uphold this. Thorough preparation is what sets Tom Dixon Painting apart from other companies who often work on a low quality/high production model. Our preparation includes power-washing of exterior paint surfaces, scraping loose paint, sanding, filling holes & defects, repairing gib, sealing gaps, treating rust, priming, sealing and undercoating.

  • Step 5 KEEPING A TIDY WORKSITE

Each day of prep and painting is followed by a cleanup of our work area. At Tom Dixon Painting we want to ensure the least amount of disruption to your home and family, and especially their health and safety.

  • Step 6 THE MAKEOVER

After preparation is complete, our painters will begin the first top coats using your selected paints for each area of the house. For most painting projects a standard two coat system will be applied by brush, roller or spray finish. At Tom Dixon Painting we have the experience and skills achieve the best result in any situation.

  • Step 7 QUALITY CHECKLIST

Using our quality assurance checklist, we at Tom Dixon Painting will be constantly going over the work in progress on a daily basis. Whether looking for holes or gaps not filled, or light checking a wall before its final coat, our proven system ensures nothing is missed.

  • Step 8 COMPLETION OF YOUR PROJECT

After the final touches have been made and our quality assurance checklist has been ticked off by Tom or Quinton, we then walk you through your newly painted home to ensure you're happy with the finished work. Once everything is completed and we have your total satisfaction, a final invoice will be send for payment. We'll leave you with a copy of the colour schedule for your home and leave you with the leftover paint for future use. Now it's time to sit back, relax and enjoy your freshly painted home.
